Yellowstone has gained a huge fanbase since it started airing on the Paramount Network in 2018 and with three seasons in the can, a fourth is set to be broadcast very soon. In light of the new episodes airing, the broadcaster has decided to allow viewers a chance to catch up on the drama by rerunning all of season three. However, this has sparked a conversation as to whether some new episodes or at least a teaser will be dropped early. Here is everything you need to know about the weekend event.

Will new episodes of Yellowstone air after the season 3 marathon on Paramount?

Over the past couple of months, Paramount has been treating fans to marathons of all the episodes which have already aired over the past three years.

One of the most recent was over the Labour Day weekend earlier this month when the catalogue of three seasons worth of drama was played, with one episode airing after another.

This has kept fans’ hunger for season four at bay and it is only a few short weeks before the new run of episodes begins on November 7.

It has been over a year since viewers got to see a completely new episode of the hit western-themed drama hit their screens.

This has been due to a delay in filming because of the coronavirus pandemic but they might be getting a teaser as the network repeats yet more classic episodes over the next few days.

Marathons are usually implemented into the schedule during a holiday event, such as Labour Day or Independence Day.

Therefore, this weekend’s run of season three is unique as it’s not actually being tied in with any national event.

Instead, it is being used to get fans excited about season four airing in six weeks time and the reason they seem to keep airing classic episodes is because they get good viewership.

Allowing audiences to watch new episodes later in the year is giving Paramount scope to generate greater ratings for the autumn period.

Come on November

Although no new episodes will air this time around, the hype around this weekend’s marathon could be to do with the release of some new footage from season four.

The official Twitter account for the show posted a clip of some footage from the western-based drama, along with a caption which read: “Sunday plans = made. Watch all of #YellowstoneTV season three on Sunday at 12pm Eastern Time, only on @ParamountNet.” (sic)

This is not an official announcement to confirm there will be a new trailer for season four but it certainly does suggest something could be in the pipeline.

There are currently a few trailers for the upcoming episodes but it seems bosses are keeping tight-lipped about any spoilers.

Fans are eager to tune in as Samatha wrote in reply: “I can ever get tired of the marathons. I’m beside myself waiting for season four. Come on November!.”

“I’ve watched seasons one, two and three more than four times since season three ended. Bring on season 4,” Rick added.

Cathy remarked on the social media platform: “Days seem like weeks waiting for this amazing show to come back into my life.”

It has not been confirmed if this is the last marathon that will air on the network before the new season begins.

Will Yellowstone season four be the last?

The actor who plays heartthrob Rip Wheeler, Cole Hauser, has given away some very brief teasers about what’s to come and whether season four could be the last.

In an interview, he said: “The way season 4 ends, I think the audience…will be happily surprised with a lot of things.”

He also admitted to HALL Wines’ Virtual Happy Hour “season five is going to be wonderful” as it’s explained scriptwriters are already writing away.

Cole explained: “Taylor [Sheridan – Yellowstone creator] is working on it right now, and I think we will be back [filming] sometime in July. I’m looking forward to getting back to Montana and getting after season five.”

Yellowstone season 4 premieres on Paramount Network in the USA on Sunday, November 7. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
