Official trailer for 1923: Yellowstone Origin Story on Paramount+
Yellowstone fans have hit out at the intense feud between Lloyd Pierce (played by Forrie J. Smith) and Walker (Ryan Bingham) in season four.
In recent years, the Dutton Ranch bunkhouse has played host to barrel racers Mia (Eden Brolin) and Laramie (Hassie Harrison), who have caused plenty of trouble amongst the wranglers.
After a brief fling with senior rancher Lloyd, Laramie started a more serious relationship with Walker, much to the old timer’s fury.
The subsequent row ended with Lloyd seriously injuring his fellow bunker, and many fans of the Paramount Network drama have railed against the bitter feud which lasted several episodes.
Redditor u/EverettDonovan recently posted: “[Walker’s] a good cowboy, minds his own business and puts in the work, and he also defended the ranch when it got attacked.
“Then Laramie decided she was more attracted by him than Lloyd, which is reasonable since he’s old enough to be her father, and the f*****g old man got so jealous that he f*****g STABBED Walker in the chest.”
This fan argued Lloyd should have immediately been taken to the train station after the attack, the secret gorge in which the crew dispose of the ranch’s enemies.
However, they claimed the old wrangler was given unfair special treatment due to his years of experience as Rip Wheeler’s (Cole Hauser) mentor and right-hand man.
Ranch owner John Dutton (Kevin Costner) even started to consider Walker’s role in the bunkhouse, despite Lloyd being the one to start all the fights.

“What are rules for, if you’re willing to break them for your most trusted men, even when they do the most deranged s**t?” the fan asked.
F**k Lloyd and f**k the writers for this terribly thought out storyline. Them barrel racers should have never entered the bunkhouse in the first place.”
Laramie and Mia have already sparked plenty of backlash during their time on the series, but causing a rift between Lloyd and Walker may have been the final straw.
Thankfully for some viewers, Mia has been absent from the series after her break-up with Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White), while Laramie has only made brief appearances.
Even so, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for more bunkhouse drama going forward as there are six episodes of the fifth season still to come.
A-lister Costner will then be leaving the flagship drama, though there’s speculation the rest of the Duttons will live on in an upcoming spin-off.
Yellowstone is available to stream on Paramount+ in the UK and Peacock in the USA.
