THE National Geographic's reality fishing show Wicked Tuna kicked off its tenth season on February 22.
Wicked Tuna follows a group of salty fishermen and women as they fish for blue-fin tuna off the nation's oldest seaport, Gloucester, Massachusetts.
Who is Wicked Tuna star Dave Marciano?
David Marciano is from Gloucester, Massachusetts, and was a commercial fisherman before he was on Wicked Tuna.
In the series, Marciano is the captain of F/V Hard Merchandise vessel.
In an interview with Fox News, Marciano described how his years as a commercial fisherman helped him reconsider his departure from the sea.
"Over the years as a commercial fisherman there's been a least half a dozen times where I just really thought I couldn't do it anymore, especially when you add in the family part.
"I could get by on a lot less but when it comes to the wife and kids having to go without as a father that makes you seriously reconsider what you're doing with your life," he added.
"But somehow I manage to keep it together and stay in the game. That's why I'm also thankful for the show.
"It's been a life-changing experience partnering with National Geographic and Pilgrim Productions."
The veteran fisherman added that he doesn't know if he'll ever step away from the sea.
"I don't know if I truly ever will retire but it would be great to get to a point in my life when I could go fishing when I want to, not because I have to," he said.
What Dave Marciano's net worth?
Marciano is said to make the most from any cast member of Wicked Tuna.
He's been in the fishing industry for over 30 years, and has been part of the reality series since season one.
Dave has an estimated net worth of $600,000, distractify reports.
What does the winner of Wicked Tuna get?
The fishing team that makes the most money during the course of the season is the winner.
The profit that the winning team makes is their prize.
Wicked Tuna "follows a group of salty fishermen from the nation's oldest seaport, Gloucester, Massachusetts, as they make their living the way it's been done for centuries – rod and reel fishing, one catch at a time – all in pursuit of the bluefin tuna," reads the show description.
"One 'monstah' bluefin can be worth more than $20,000, and with that kind of money on the line, every captain is fighting to be the best in the fleet."
Captain TJ Ott and the Hot Tuna team are the defending champions, but the winning total ($67,854) was down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was the lowest winning total in the history of the series, and season 10 has proven to be a struggle as well so far with dwindling prices.
How can I watch Wicked Tuna?

Past seasons of the show are available to watch on the streaming service Disney+.
