Tipping Point sparks frenzy as fans left baffled at ridiculously easy question

Tipping Point was back on our screens this afternoon as ITV aired another throwback episode of the popular game show.

Host Ben Shephard welcomed four contestants to the famous ITV studio as they battled it out to win the highly sought after cash prizes.

Gordon, Jo, Hilary and Taz answered a series of questions to win turns on an arcade-style machine.

Dropping tokens down a choice of four chutes, they each hoped to knock piles of the counters off a moving shelf – the more they collected, the greater the prize fund.

ITV viewers were baffled this afternoon as Ben asked contestant Jo a question about Australia.

"A person described as Australian resides in what country?", Ben said.

Jo confidently answered: "Australia."

Fans were left scratching their heads over the easy question.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "The question writers have ran out of Trivial Pursuit questions and instead are using the Early Learning Centre questions."

Another added: "Did Ben just ask if an Australian is from Australia or have I fallen asleep and dreamt it?"

A third said: "An Australian is from which country? Jesus Christ who writes these questions?"

While a fourth ranted: "If you don’t know Australians are from Australia or that lemonade is made from lemons then you wouldn’t have applied for the show in the first place

A fifth joked: "Only if I knew Australians came from Australia … I could apply to be on the show."

Hilary was the first person to get the boot from the quiz show and she was quickly followed by Jo.

Retired magazine editor Gordon took on restaurant manager Taz in a fierce head to head, and it was Taz who made it through to the final round.

When asked by Ben what he'd do if he won some money, Taz replied: "My partner has been with me through thick and thin.

"With my job I sometimes don't get in until four in the morning.

"I'd like to take her away and buy her a ring, propose and have a nice wedding."

A happy Taz walked away from the Tipping Point studio with £2,200 in his pocket and a huge grin on his face.
