Susanna Reid reveals terrifying coronavirus nightmares left her 'screaming and crying'

SUSANNA Reid has revealed that she suffered with terrifying coronavirus nightmares which left her "screaming and crying" at the start of the pandemic.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 49, opened up about how she tried to cope with the deadly bug back in March, admitting that it was "very frightening" talking about it on the ITV show.

The telly favourite, who regularly presents the early breakfast programme alongside Piers Morgan, felt like she couldn't escape the killer virus due to reporting on it every day.

During a chat with The Telegraphs’ Stella Magazine, Susanna explained: “It was an anxious time for everybody, but those early days were very frightening.

“I started to have really vivid, terrifying nightmares where I would wake up screaming and crying even though I couldn’t quite remember what the nightmares were.”

Things became even worse when co-star Kate Garraway's husband, Derek Draper, was left in a critical condition after falling ill with the virus.

Derek was rushed to hospital at the end of March and admitted to intensive care after falling into a coma.

The former lobbyist has since awoken, but still unable to speak and Susanna has been a massive support to her colleague during the difficult times.

Susanna has been doing everything she can to make sure that Kate and her children are okay – and recently helped her prepare Billy for his first day of secondary school.

Luckily Susanna got a break from talking about the topic of Covid-19 as she enjoyed nearly two months off for her mega summer break.

The star headed back to the studio at the start of September, but during her time off decided to stay up until 2am watching Selling Sunset on Netflix.

The popular reality TV show, that follows a group of elite agents at The Oppenheim Group trying to sell luxurious houses in LA, has taken the UK by storm.

And it looks like Susanna can't get enough of it.

In her Daily Mail column she wrote: "I am in withdrawal now that I've run out of episodes of high-gloss U.S. reality gossip fest Selling Sunset.

"If you haven't seen this series about a group of money-obsessed, glamorous estate agents (pictured) flogging multi-million-dollar homes in the Hollywood Hills, plonk yourself down in front of Netflix tonight.

"Every night this week, I have been awake until 2am unable to switch off before I know whether Davina will sell the ridiculous $75 million house she's representing; Chrishell will return to the viper pit of their office in West Hollywood after her actor husband dumps her by text; and Christine will get the realistically bleeding strawberries for her Gothic-themed wedding to a billionaire.

"I'm on the edge of my sofa waiting for Season 4."

The presenter also revealed that she gained 10lbs during the coronavirus lockdown, but admitted that she feels much "happier".
