Spoilers: Abi dies in tragic scenes after devastating car accident in Corrie?

Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) was left fighting for her life in Coronation Street, after the engine of a car fell on her and thus trapped her alone in the garage.

Abi was somewhat apprehensive about saying goodbye to children Charlie and Lexi, and therefore was unable to go through with the meeting Seb (Harry Visinoni) had put in place.

However, she later reconsidered her decision, and thus had Seb contact social services on her behalf and set another meeting in motion.

That meeting was due to take place in tonight’s episode (August 19), and it’s safe to say that Abi was nervous.

However, she was getting rather fed up of others assuming that she would cancel, and told Seb that she’d meet him later so that they could attend together.

Kevin (Michael Le Vell) attempted to make sure Abi was okay given that it was a big day for her, but when he learned of a breakdown, Abi encouraged him to go — confirming that she would stay behind and finish the car she was working on.

Kevin locked the garage up, and Abi turned up the radio, as she returned to work. Unfortunately, the engine of the vehicle — which was sitting nearby — fell on Abi, pinning her to the floor.

She writhed in pain and screamed for help, but it was no use, as the combination of the locked door and the loud music made it impossible for anyone to hear her pleas.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) eventually discovered Abi after he acquired the keys of the garage from Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and therefore he rang for an ambulance.

Will Seb realise that something is wrong when his mum doesn’t turn up?

Or will Abi die before he realises what’s going on?

Coronation Street continues Friday August 21 at 7:30pm on ITV.
