If a new report is to be believed, the 26-year-old Emmy winner and her team approach HBO about renegotiating her contract for the upcoming season of the hit series.
AceShowbiz –Zendaya Coleman is reportedly looking for a fantastic deal with HBO. If a new report is to be believed, the award-winning actress will be one of the highest-paid television actors in Hollywood as she’s “just closed a big re-negotiation” that will earn her $1 million per episode in upcoming season 3 of “Euphoria“.
According to Puck News, Zendaya and her team approached the network about renegotiating her contract. The 26-year-old actress, who won 2 Emmys for her role as Rue Bennett, felt that she was owed more money. The report also noted that in addition to starring on the show, Zendaya also served as an executive producer on the show for its second season, which earned the show the most watched show of 2022.
“The new deal is reportedly close to $1 million per episode. She is expected to be in the likeness of her Hollywood counterparts, who also make close to that amount for their respective shows,” the report claimed.
Fans, meanwhile, totally think that Zendaya deserves that much as she carries the show. “Money well spent. She makes me love Rue so much,” one fan commented on Instagram, with someone adding, “No Zendaya = No Show.” A proud fan also wrote, “It’s giving main character energy (literally [laugh emoji]) she knows her worth and the show is nothing without her ! Proud of her.”
“She definitely deserves it!! Because that episode when she broke down banging her head against that door crying! Yea i cried real bad,” one other raved. On the other side, some other were concerned about the episode count with one saying, “we gone f**k around get only get 4 episodes.”
Prior to this, fellow “Euphoria” star Sydney Sweeney discussed the payment on the show. “They don’t pay actors like they used to, and with streamers, you no longer get residuals,” The White Lotus” actress shared in a 2022 Hollywood Reporter profile. “The established stars still get paid, but I have to give 5 percent to my lawyer, 10 percent to my agents, 3 percent or something like that to my business manager. I have to pay my publicist every month, and that’s more than my mortgage.”
Meanwhile, other A-listers with seven-figure television salaries include Michael Keaton on “Dopesick“, Jason Sudekis on “Ted Lasso” and Elisabeth Moss on “Shining Girls“. It was also reported that John Krasinki is currently the highest paid TV actor as he earned $2 million per episode on “Jack Ryan“, which he also executive produced.
