The new season of the fan-favorite TV show will ‘take viewers beyond security gates to hang out for an up-close-and-personal look, dropping even more legendary moments like never before.’
AceShowbiz -MTV is bringing back its hit TV series “Cribs” after 20 years. The TV network announced on Thursday, July 14 that the fan-favorite show will return with all-new episodes in August.
In each 30-minute episode, viewers will be given an exclusive peek at celebrities’ lavish house as well as their extravagant lifestyle. The upcoming season will feature some big names including Big Sean, Rick Ross and Tinashe. Other stars who are set to show off their cribs are Nick Young, Tia Mowry, Marsai Martin, JoJo Siwa, Scott Disick, Martha Stewart, Jordyn Woods, Kathy Griffin, Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross.
” ‘Cribs’ didn’t simply introduce the celebreality genre, it created a blueprint for how we engage on social media,” Nina L. Diaz, President of Content and Chief Creative Officer, MTV Entertainment Group, shared in a statement. “We are thrilled to usher in a new era of this iconic franchise for audiences around the world.”
A statement from the network further teased what fans could expect from the upcoming season. “Each intimate 30-minute episode will take viewers beyond security gates to hang out for an up-close-and-personal look, dropping even more legendary moments like never before,” it read.
MTV’s “Cribs” first aired in September 2000. In a span of 19 seasons, it amassed a total of 113 episodes and featured over 185 celebrities including Mariah Carey, whose infamous 2002 episode was the most watched. Prior to the new TV revival, a reboot was made in 2010 with CMT spin-offs and a Snapchat short-form series airing later.
The show originally was developed by Diaz. Elena Diaz and Adam Gonzalez are set to executive produce the new season.
Season 20 of “Cribs” is set to premiere on Wednesday, August 11, at 9:30 P.M. on MTV.
