Lucifer has been given a sixth and final season on Netflix, despite the fifth series originally being the show’s final outing. When season six arrives, it will drop only on Netflix which is home to seasons four and five of the show. has a breakdown of all the ways to watch the first three seasons of Lucifer.

How and where to watch Lucifer seasons 1, 2 and 3 online

Lucifer premiered in January 2016, exclusively on FOX in the US.

The supernatural series returned for a second outing in September 2016 and a third in October 2017.

FOX decided season three would be the show’s final season and it aired with 26 episodes between October 2017 and May 2018.

Fans were outraged their favourite show was being cancelled and took to social media to start a #SaveLucifer campaign which soon became a top trending topic.

The cast and crew of the show also took part in the #SaveLucifer campaign and thankfully Netflix was the streaming giant who came to the rescue in June 2018.

Netflix renewed the series for a fourth season, which aired in May 2019 and then a fifth and final outing consisting of 16 episodes which premiered in August 2020.

However, Netflix reversed its decision to cancel Lucifer and just weeks before the season five premiere, decided to renew the show for a sixth and “final, FINAL” season.

As a result of the show’s complicated history, Lucifer is available to watch online in different places.

Seasons 1 to 3 of Lucifer

As the first three seasons of Lucifer aired on FOX, they are currently not available to watch on Netflix which is the show’s present home.

Lucifer fans can watch the first three seasons via Amazon Prime Video.
