Love Island’s Tom Walker has admitted that he cringed whenever Maura Higgins spoke freely about sex in the villa.
The former contestant, who was dumped alongside Arabella Chi, revealed to Caroline Flack on Aftersun that his love interest was ‘loud and over the top’ and that her actions sometimes irked him.
‘My first initial impression of her was that she was a little bit loud and over the top,’ Tom began. ‘I wasn’t calling her cringey, but just some of the things she did or said made me cringe a little bit.’
Explaining what he meant by his comments in further depth, Tom added: ‘She was the loudest in the group.
‘She would speak openly about sex and make these comments that did make me cringe a little bit.’
Tom also confessed that Maura made him feel a little bit out of his depth when they first met.
‘She put me on the back foot, she made me a little bit nervous,’ he continued. ‘It did take me a couple of days to find my feet and come out my shell a little bit.’
Caroline made sure to ask Tom about the moment he ruined his trip to The Hideaway by telling Maura he wants to see if she’s ‘all mouth.’
‘It was lads banter gone wrong,’ he admitted. ‘I shouldn’t have said it, it was out of order. I hold my hands up. I shouldn’t have tired.
‘It was one of them things. I had been speaking really highly of her before that. It was that little thing, I just got too excited. It was stupid.’
Love Island Aftersun airs Sundays at 9pm on ITV2.
