LOVE Island fans have slammed Maura Higgins for crying when Amy Hart left – despite voting for her to go, saying they weren't friends and cracking on with the love of her life Curtis.
The 28-year-old was seen in tears when the former air hostess told the Islanders she was leaving last night.
It came after her showdown with Amy, where the Irish grid told insisted she didn't need to tell her she liked Curtis because they weren't close.
Fans were quick to point that out, tweeting: "Is Maura really crying because Amy is leaving? But they aren’t 'close' so wtf."
Another said: "WHY THE F*** are you crying Maura, now that Amy has said she’s leaving?!!? FAKE ASS WITH YOUR FAKE TEARS."
A third wrote: "Maura didn’t care about Amy’s feelings when she stuck it on Curtis in front of her but now she’s left she’s crying?!? Bore off hun ."
Others were just as disbelieving, writing: "Why is Maura crying to Amy’s goodbye. I don’t believe it ??."
Another said: "I’m a bit behind but if Maura never clicked with Amy, and never felt welcomed by her or saw her as a friend…why the f*** is she crying?"
Earlier, Maura had told Amy: "When I came in here, I felt that out of all the girls here, you were the one that wouldn’t let me in."
And when it came to which couple to vote out, Maura didn't hesitate in opting to send Amy home.
She said: "Obviously Curtis and Amy. They can't really be living in the same place together, it's awkward."
But the majority went for Lucie Donlan and George Rains, with the pair leaving the villa.
Viewers were in tears last night, when Amy told Curtis she was quitting the show with an emotional speech.
She said: "You are not going to be happy whilst I’m still here. So, I’m leaving today, but it’s a positive thing because I’m going to go and start the rest of my life today.
“I’m going to let you go and you pursue whoever it is you want to pursue and hope that you find whatever you are looking for.
“Once this is all done we will have the best friendship you have ever seen in your life.”
Fans watching couldn’t handle the emotion. One wrote, “Nah Amy has me in mad tears I can’t cope."
Another said: “Why am I crying so much Amy was never my favourite person but she deserves all the love in the world and I hope she finds it and more."
