Lorraine viewers were left speechless after a guest revealed she felt ‘sorry’ for Prince Andrew amid the Virginia Giuffre court case.
Giuffre launched a civil suit in the US, alleging she was forced to have sex with the Duke Of York when she was 17. Prince Andrew has always denied the allegations and said he has no recollection of ever meeting her.
This comes after Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was found guilty of recruiting and grooming teenage girls for sexual encounters with her late boyfriend between 1994 and 2004.
During Monday’s episode of Lorraine, the 61-year-old presenter was joined by royal editor Russell Myers and columnist Susie Boniface to discuss the looming trial.
The host pondered whether Prince Andrew might be ‘sweating’ after the $500,000 (£370,081) settlement agreement between her and Epstein was brought to light.
‘I almost feel sorry for Andrew because there’s pretty much nothing he can do with Virginia’s case to completely exonerate himself,’ Boniface said.
‘We have to say of course he’s denied all these allegations. We’ve said this all along, it’s not going anywhere. It’s gonna be hugely embarrassing.
‘It’s not going away any time soon. You’ve got to feel sorry for the Queen, you really do. It must be absolutely hideous.’
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
