It’s been a tough couple of months for James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) in Hollyoaks but — in spite of their happy reunion at the beginning of the year — there’s plenty more heartache ahead, as James’ reasons to doubt Harry grow.
When Harry returned to Chester back in January, he had one thing on his mind, and that was winning back James. He was given a helping hand in doing so by Romeo Quinn (Owen Warner), and in the end, he managed to convince James that their relationship was worth fighting for.
Unfortunately, these happier times are a bit of a distant memory now, as things have went from bad to worse for the pair in recent months. Harry’s found himself the prime suspect in a police investigation after his car was involved in the hit-and-run which left Grace Black (Tamara Wall) fighting for her life — and the return of his ex Sadie hasn’t helped matters either.
James and Harry’s troubles are set to continue in the coming episodes, as James struggles to come up with a way to get his beau off the hook. Harry’s not too worried, as he has a lead involving Sadie — and promises his lover that he’ll track her down so that she can provide an alibi. With the possibly of an out in sight, James’ concerns are settled — that is, until he spots Harry alone later in the day, and assumes he’s lied about finding Sadie.
He finds himself unable to trust Harry, so he resolves to unlock his phone to find out what he’s been up to. Later, he overhears Harry having a conversation with Ste (Kieron Richardson), which leaves him incredibly suspicious.
Will Harry rekindle his romance with Ste behind James’ back? In other words, will a #Starry reunion spell the end of #Jarry?
Or is James simply reading too much into the situation?
One to watch: Wednesday 3rd July at 7pm on E4.
