Escape to the Chateau fans have been tuning into Channel 4 to catch up with Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree. The couple continue to work hard on renovating their beautiful French chateau, which has attracted fans from across the globe. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about how much a ‘glamping’ experience costs.
How much does glamping cost at the chateau?
The Channel 4 documentary series has been showcasing the 19th-century Château de la Motte-Husson in France for the past five years.
Dick and Angel wanted to restore the 45-room castle so they could hold their wedding at the property.
They have since continued to grow the wedding business and carry out extensive renovation work on the chateau and its grounds.
Besides weddings, the couple organise glamorous camping experiences for lovers of the outdoors.
The Chateau Under The Stars experience costs £350 and it allows two people to stay in a ‘floating dome’ with a double bed.
Sadly the event is fully booked at the moment, so fans will have to keep an eye on the Escape to the Chateau website.
Other options include a ‘land dome’ by the side of the moat, which includes a double bed and two single beds, so the whole family can be together.
Both domes are available to book together for a bigger family of four adults and two children.
For those who stay, they will have access to their own bathroom and shower block, a wood burner and barbecue and an outdoor seating area.
There is also a small kitchen and fully stocked bar, use of fishing equipment and bikes, French breakfast and welcome basket.
To add to the excitement, families will also be able to roam the beautiful grounds. They will not, however, have access inside the chateau itself.
The website says: “Elegant camping just got interesting here at The Chateau with our brand new geodesic Domes to watch the stars twinkle, in total luxury.”
Channel 4 Living has shared a video showing Dick and Angel creating the luxury glamping site in just six weeks.
Dick is heard saying: “The dome has got a bridge going to it. To make it nice she [Angel] wanted to have a bigger dome over here with shelves and kitchen facilities.
“So we are fabricating a shower this end, a sink here, a loo this end. It’s going to be a whole kitchenette.

“There will be a whole big area for lounging around in the sun and a big barbecue pit in it to sit around.
“Hot tub, I have heard mentioned. It’s a massive project, sadly we are doing this in a time of year when it’s wet and boggy and dirty.
“All in all that’s what she wants and that’s what she gets.” Fans have called the finished product “beautiful”.
One fan said on Twitter: “Loved loved loved Escape to the Chateau tonight! The new glamping pod looks fab.”
Another said: “We all need a @dickstrawbridgein our lives, please can you build me a whole new glamping experience in 6 weeks? Loving the new series of Escape to the Chateau. Fab way to end a weekend.”
‘Glamping’ describes the popular craze of glamorous camping – a style of camping that includes access to special amenities.
Tourists are treated to the luxuries of a hotel stay as well as the escapism of traditional camping.
Popular glamping accommodation includes treehouses, yurts, and pods like those at the chateau.
Escape to the Chateau airs on Channel 4.
