MARTIN Freeman fans are LOVING his new big crime show, The Responder.
The series follows an unconventional urgent response officer tackling a series of night shifts on the beat in Liverpool.
How many episodes of The Responder are there?
The Responder is based on true events as it is about the life of ex-police officer Tony Schumacher, who is also the writer for the series.
There are five episodes in the series which stars Martin Freeman as copper Chris Carson.
You can watch them all right now on the iPlayer.
Speaking about the show, Martin told the BBC: "When Laurence Bowen first sent me the scripts he was very excited and after reading the first few pages, and I felt this was really something else.
"It wasn’t a drama that was written by committee, it was unfiltered Tony Schumacher, and I really liked that he put whatever he wanted on the page.
What has happened in episodes 1 and 2?
The series follows Chris Carson, played by Freeman, in a series of night shifts in central Liverpool.
In the first two episodes we see that Carson is a man on the edge and the on-duty scenes are interspersed with scenes of him at therapy, at home and with his mother in a nursing home.
He is partnered with Rachel Hargreaves, a new inexperienced and still idealistic officer, who wants to play by the rules.
We also met Carl Sweeney, a mid-ranking drug dealer whose stash of cocaine has been stolen by drug addict Casey.
Carson is trying to help Casey and in doing so crosses Sweeney, leading Sweeney to attempt to intimidate him.
