Yellowstone fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of the Western drama following the unbelievable series three finale. The Paramount Network show has proved to be a worldwide hit with two spin-off series also in the making. So the future is currently looking very bright for the Yellowstone universe.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Yellowstone.
Season three ended with three of the Duttons in big trouble as it looks like the family is being targeted.
John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) was shot but his phone may have been his saviour as the bullet struck his device which had been in his shirt pocket.
Meanwhile, his son Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) had to deal with a group of masked gunmen storming into his office but fans haven’t been as concerned about his welfare since he’s a former Navy SEAL.
However, there are some who are worried about the feisty Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) as a bomb exploded in her office, causing her glass walls to shatter.
Yellowstone will be back for series four so viewers will find out what happened after the three attacks took place.
Typically, a new series of the drama premieres in June and so it is predicted this is going to be the same for season four as well.
But as of yet, an official start date hasn’t been announced by Paramount Network.
Even before series four has begun though, there are talks of the future of Yellowstone.
Has Yellowstone been renewed for season 5?
According to some reports, the creators of Yellowstone have already been given the green light for season five.
Spoiler TV has even said that filming for the fifth series will begin in July 2021, just one month after season four is expected to start.
So far though, this hasn’t been officially confirmed, therefore could be just hopeful rumours at this stage.
As filming has only recently wrapped up for Yellowstone series four, returning to production in just a few months time does seem to be a bit soon but could be possible.

But a clue that filming could start up again next year has been given via those at the Chief Joseph Ranch, where Yellowstone is primarily filmed.
The website says that the filming schedule for 2022 is “not available at this time”, hinting at the fact there are plans for another series after season four.
Location manager Mark Jarrett also told NY Post “we locked in use of the house for five seasons”, so the ranch would be readily available if Yellowstone was to return for another series.
Therefore, there is at least the intention for more seasons of Yellowstone.
Fans are expecting the story to continue though, especially after the announcement of two spin-off shows.
They will be called Y: 1886 and 6666, one of which will be about the Duttons’ ancestors making their way to the ranch and the other about the Four Sixes ranch in West Texas.
These will both air exclusively on streaming service Paramount Plus.
Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Network.
