Moira and Cain Dingle (Natalie J Robb and Jeff Hordley) will find themselves on opposing sides in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, after Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) is injured in a fire accident.

Desperate to drum up some trade at the Woolpack, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) ropes Matty in to help with an outdoor barbecue.

Matty is pleased that he was asked, and Marlon leaves him to it, as he gears up to use the grill.

However, Matty ends up squirting lighter fluid on the barbecue, which sends up a fireball of blames!

Tragedy strikes and his hands are burned, leaving Marlon feeling incredibly guilty. And while Marty’s wellbeing is of course top priority, Marlon soon realises the seriousness of the situation, as Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) tells him they could lose everything if Matty decides to sue.

Moira, meanwhile, is less than pleased to discover what happened to her son, and the above clip – taken from Friday’s (September 17) episode of the ITV soap – sees her vent her frustrations.

She tells Matty that Chas and Marlon are ‘not off the hook,’ which leaves Cain uneasy, as he reminds Moira that they’d agree to drop this.

‘How is leaving it going to help?’ asks Moira, much to Cain’s dismay.

Unwilling to listen to any more, Cain tells her that she’s got no idea how much Chas is struggling financially right now, before storming off.

‘Has she asked you for help, is that it?’ quizzes Moira. ‘Cain you’d better not be planning anything!’.

Moira and Cain are evidently divided on this whole situation, but will they be able to see eye to eye?

Emmerdale airs these scenes Friday September 17 at 7pm on ITV.
