Mandy (played by Lisa Riley) has been taking a backseat from the drama on Emmerdale lately after a hellish year in the village. The beloved character has started to reappear in scenes on the ITV soap as her son, Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), continues to fight for justice for his former lover, Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) who is facing a long stint behind bars for supposedly killing Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon). However, she could have her own problems to deal with if troublemaker Kerry (Laura Norton) causes a stir for her.

In this week’s episodes, Kerry will return to working at the salon following a whole year away from the drama in the village.

With Christmas around the corner and having taken her place back in the business, the troublemaker has some ideas up her sleeve.

She tries to get Mandy and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) in a festive mood and asks them if they can have a Christmas party at the salon.

This could all be a cover for another plan Kerry as she tries to get security for her future in the Dales with her family.

It could be she wants to get the owners of the establishment drunk enough they had over the deeds of the business to her.

This means they would become Kerry’s employees as she takes over the business they’ve kept afloat in the midst of a pandemic.

Technically, the troublemaker would have stolen the business from under them but because they’d signed a contract when they were drunk, it would be legally sound.

There would be no way Mandy would be able to claim her business back so she could start to think of alternative ways to get her revenge.

Since Kerry returned to the village, she has been hiding from a notorious gangster who she worked for during her stint away from the Dales.

Damien is a man no one would want to cross and especially since his former cleaner took his daughter, Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) away from him, he would be wanting blood.

Mandy has had connections with dodgy dealers in the past and she could have a contact who knows Damien quite well.

As she forges an alliance with the gangster, the beloved villager could find herself becoming best friends with Kerry in order to get her revenge.

With the two women spending all their time together, Mandy could manipulate the troublemaker into thinking they’re going to take a trip away from the village.

In truth, Mandy could be luring the mother of one to her death as Damien would have asked her to get Kerry to a secret location.

Once there, the troublemaker would be left to the devices of the men her former boss has ordered to kill her.

Most explosive year in Mandy’s life

As Mandy returns to the village, she could be wracked with guilt for playing a part in Kerry’s death and will have to look Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) in the eye every day and lie to her about her mother’s whereabouts.

The beloved character could realise her quest for revenge went too far as she now has to pay the price for the rest of her life.

With the troublemaker nowhere to be seen, the deeds of the salon would go back to Mandy and her business partner Bernice.

However, Vinny’s mother could feel uncomfortable with how she managed to get her hands back on the business and make plans to leave.

Selling her share of the salon, the owner of the establishment could pack her bags and depart the village for good, never to return.

The actress who plays Mandy, Lisa, explained at the beginning of the year her character was going to take some dark turns.

Lisa said in an interview with Metro.co.uk “[2021 is] going to be the most explosive year in Mandy’s life.

“So many layers moving forward and will be the good, the bad and the ugly in so many ways,” the soap star continued.

“Still fun but the drama will definitely kick in, more tears before bedtime. Who knows if that happy ever after will happy.

“A lot of mental bruises for Mandy they won’t be going away at the moment,” she added so could helping in Kerry’s death be one of the things she was touching upon?

The actress who plays Kerry, Laura, also spoke about how her character knows how dangerous Damien can be.

Laura explained: “It’s just a professional relationship and he’s very, very scary. Kerry’s been made aware of everything because he trusts her to be in the house.

“She’s the cleaner, but I think she’s been given other responsibilities and obviously she’s become very close to his daughter – but she has been privy to conversations where she knows exactly what he’s been involved in.

“Even for Kerry, it’s incredibly dark and not something she wants to be involved in. It’s very dark, scary stuff.

“You wouldn’t even want to know this person through someone else. So to be living and working in his house, it’s all a bit too close for her.”

So could this be the end of Kerry after double-crossing so many times?

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode airing on Thursdays at 8pm.
