EastEnders spoilers: Whitney Dean to fall pregnant with Gray Atkins’ baby in affair twist?

Whitney (played by Shona McGarty) should be in no headspace to think about a relationship, or motherhood, after accidentally killing her stalker Leo King (Tom Wells) during last week’s nail-biting episodes of EastEnders. Viewers of the BBC soap have already seen her confide in Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) about murdering her ex-boyfriend, but as the dust settles after the boat party tragedy next week, the beloved character will find herself in the frame for murder. Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) will take on her case, but as he pledges to represent her, will the pair sleep together and end up conceiving a child?

Although there has been no confirmation of a possible romance for the pair, there have been several hints the hotshot lawyer could betray his wife, Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer).

When Leo’s sinister motives came to light last year, Gray was on hand to help Whitney when she was mugged, but he was amazed by her response of tackling them to the ground.

They never really crossed paths again until recent scenes saw the abusive character willing to help Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), who was going to take the wrap for pushing his friend’s stalker off a balcony.

As the police begin to investigate the menacing character’s murder next week, it seems the pair will be spending more time together, but could they give into a spark which could be bubbling between them?

The drama kicks off next week when Whitney is arrested, becoming the prime suspect in Leo’s murder case as the authorities were aware of the pair’s troubles.

After speaking with her sister Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith), the beloved character will look towards her future bleaker than ever.

Not willing to give up on her sibling, the teenager will beg Gray to use his legal knowledge to help ensure she is allowed to walk free.

Although he is reluctant, which could be because he has feelings for the jailbird, the lawyer eventually agrees to take on the case.

However, the pressure piles on top of Gray’s shoulders and this causes him to lash out at his wife Chantelle and two children.

With things at home on tenterhooks, the lawyer will end up turning to his client as she continues to plead self-defence.

He asks her if she called anyone on the night in question, to which Whitney denies, but knowing full well she rang Mick for help.

Another discrepancy will arise which makes the abusive character question the jailbird’s version of events, but as he continues to spend time with her, could his feelings turn to ones of love?

It’s not yet known how long Whitney will be behind bars, but if Gray puts his head down, he could get her out on condition of bail.

As his relationship with Chantelle continues to become more troublesome, the lawyer could tell her he is wanting to spend more time getting to grips with his case as he wants to get the best result at a trial.

This time together could see the pair embark on a steamy affair and having lost a baby after his wife suffered a miscarriage last year, will the lawyer be stunned to discover he is going to be a father to another woman’s child?

The mother of his two children has had doubts before her husband was cheating on her when he offered to help another Walford resident last year.

Before her son Hunter Owen (Charlie Winter) was killed, Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) called on her neighbour for legal advice.

Chantelle saw the former club owner walk out the couple’s house, sparking a seed of doubt in her mind Gray was being unfaithful.

Of course, no affair came to fruition, but with her husband getting distracted by Whitney’s case, could this leave her fearing he is betraying her?

Viewers will have to wait and see what comes but Leo’s death does spark another chapter in Whitney’s turbulent saga – could motherhood be her latest challenge?

EastEnders continues Friday at 8:30pm on BBC One.
