Speaking directly to the camera, she told her 10.2 million fans: “Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you’re having a great day.”

The tongue-in-cheek video continued with Courteney joking: “I’m feeling so thankful – and also if I get one more goddamn GIF of that turkey on my head dancing like a f**king fool, I'm just gonna snap!”

“So, anyway, since I’m the symbol of thanksgiving, here you go… I hope it makes you happy,” she concluded, before cutting to an image of her shimmying with the turkey on her head.

David Beckham also got in on the action, writing: “OMG this just made my day.”

Later in the day, Courteney posted another video clip where she showed just how hard it was to recreate the famous moment.

Entitled “the (gross) truth”, Courteney also added the warning: “Vegan Discretion Advised.” The star can then be seen preparing to put the turkey on her head by wrapping a plastic sheet around her face.

But it’s not long before she finds herself in a series of mishaps – much to the delight of her friends filming.

The camera goes on to capture several failed attempts, as Courteney complains that it’s “gross” and “disgusting”. However, eventually Courtney manages to get the money shot.

The original scene aired in the 1998 Thanksgiving episode of Friends and was an instant hit with diehard fans.
