Aaron (played by James Craven) recently revealed the extent of his horrific abuse to his girlfriend Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) on Coronation Street. While he insisted he was attacked by thugs, he was later seen having a suspicious phone call. ITV soap fans have been speculating Stu Carpenter was on the end of the phone – could he be responsible for abusing Aaron?

When answering the call, Aaron appeared confused as it seemed the person on the phone wanted to meet him at a specific time, to which he replied: “I’m sorry.

“I will come now,” he added before someone seemed to issue a threat as he said: “Please, don’t. I will come now, right now.

“I’m sorry. It was my mistake. I got mixed up,” he continued, with the person on the other end of the phone getting cut off.

When Summer re-entered the room, Aaron made his excuses and left so he could meet with the mystery caller.

While it was never revealed who the youngster met up with, ITV soap fans have been theorising who it could be.

Some are convinced Stu (Bill Fellows) could be behind Aaron’s abuse after recently telling his long-lost daughter Bridget: “I didn’t hurt that girl I promise you I didn’t.”

Coronation Street fans will recall Bridget begged her estranged father to leave and appeared scared of him.

An upset Stu said: “I haven’t stopped thinking about you for 34 years.”

“I can’t do this. I’m sorry,” she replied before shutting the door in his face.

Taking to Twitter, @Thedragon18137 said: “Okay hear me out… Aaron’s being abused by someone, probably his dad.

“What if Stu’s his dad? He told Bridget he ‘didn’t hurt that girl?’ #Corrie.” (sic)

He added: “I’m just theorising but feel like it could be someone we know or a past villain.”

Matthew penned: “I really hope they do not ruin Stu’s character with this storyline #corrie.”

Wini Boansi said: “I am looking forward to seeing the back story about Stu. There’s something a little off… #Corrie.”

Will it soon come to light that Stu is Aaron’s father as well as his abuser?

ITV soap spoilers have revealed the story of Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) offering Stu a lifeline when he was homeless ends up being on the front page of the local paper.

Stu is later left horrified when his ex-wife Lucy turns up on the cobbles and orders him to stay away from their daughter Bridget before dropping a major bombshell.

Has she got proof Stu attacked Aaron which she might show to Yasmeen?

How will Yasmeen react if she unearths the secret Stu has been trying to hide?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
