This Morning fans have seen various spin-offs since Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned to the helm at the beginning of this month. The ITV show has seen stars including Nigel Havers and Josie Gibson take viewers to some of the most idyllic spots within the UK. And now, Josie has been given another UK-based show to host, with ITV favourite Alison Hammond by her side. However, Alison has opened up on why she isn’t a fan of Josie calling her “Queen”.
The popular duo often feature on This Morning in a variety of different segments.
But now, the much-loved ladies will be joining forces after ITV announced a new venture, titled Alison and Josie’s Staycation Showdown.
The new format will continue the theme from the daytime show of looking at the best Britain has to offer, well into the autumn.
However, ahead of the mini-series, Alison has spoken out on the nickname she’s been given by Josie – which she’s not particularly fond of.
Asked about the pet names in question – Queen or Queenie – Alison admitted she “hates” them.
In response to the sweet labels, Alison said: “Oh I know… but do you know what? I know she means it in a lovely way, but I absolutely hate being called that! [Laughs] But I can’t bring myself to tell her.
“Can you do that for me?!… I just think it makes me feel old, and I can’t stand it. I’d rather she call me Princess! [Laughs] How can I tell her? “
She went on to note how she didn’t have “the heart to tell” her co-star how she felt.
Alison added: “I haven’t got the heart to tell her. ‘Princess’ will make me feel younger. If you can pass that on and then she can read it and it won’t be awkward at all then will it? [Laughs] …But in answer to your question, I just call her Josie! [Laughs]”
Quizzed on why she has handed out the names to Alison, Josie said: “I’d hope she calls me the Princess, to be honest. I call her my Queen because she’s just an absolute Queen!”
She was full of compliments for the presenter, adding: “Everything that Alison does is with love and from the heart.
“I’m just so lucky that I get to work with my Queen. I just love her.”

Josie continued to gush about her newest co-host, who she will be seen travelling across the nation with from next Monday.
She said: “There are not many people who don’t love Alison Hammond though, she’s got something really special about her. I’m definitely the Robin to her Batman.”
The programme will see the duo try to find the best places to stay across the nation, including a treehouse and a World War Two bunker.
The pair will have to fight it out for their pick to be crowned the ultimate staycation.
Alison went on to address whether they could ever move on to host This Morning together.
The star has previously hosted on guest occasions and proved popular with viewers, with many calling for her to be a more permanent fixture.
Of the prospect of hosting with Josie, she joked: “Us hosting together would be hilarious, but we wouldn’t get anything done!
“We’d be laughing way too much and get ourselves into trouble, so I’m not sure that’d be wise if I’m honest…”
‘Alison and Josie’s Staycation Showdown’ is on ITV’s This Morning from Monday, September 28 at 10am
