The growing use of social media as a communication tool in the 21st century is equally increasing threats to national security around the world. This study examined the perception of social media influence as a threat among UAE community members (especially youth); The widespread use of SM platforms in the emirate of Sharjah (Dibba Al Hissan, Khor Fakkan, Kalba) was analyzed using a descriptive analytical approach. The results of a study on the influence and consequences of social media on national security of the UAE rated social media as having the highest level of influence on political influence, followed by economic, cultural and social, moral and religious influence in descending order. magnitude and least likely impact on anticipated national security implications. In addition, the results of one-way ANOVA showed that social media was able to predict the perceived level of national security experienced by members of the UAE youth community. A unique feature of this study is the analysis of the five dimensions of national security and the impact of national security on each other collectively from the perspective of Arab youth. In addition, the study design is replicable and offers (a) potential for wider use as a means to advance understanding of the influence of social media on national national security perceptions and (b) a fundamental basis for future research.

According to Maslow’s theory of needs, security is a basic need of human life, and the level at which it is experienced by members of a community is reflected in the trust and safety of the respective society. As government organizations around the world strive to find sustainable solutions for national security and disaster management in their communities, they are faced with the challenge of managing the impact of social media.

How Social Media Influenced Me For The Better

In a globalized world, social media (SM), its reach, influence and potential are no longer in dispute; It has affected people’s lives, its use and misuse [2]. The unprecedented growth in the use of the Internet and related shared and multi-layered social networks is recognized worldwide as one of the most important security threats at the local, regional, national and global levels. Modern literature widely recognizes the role of social networks as a mechanism for destabilizing intellectual beliefs, ideological stability, moral and social virtues to create imbalance within society, increasing threats to national security and crises [3, 4, 5]. The research presented in this article aims to inform the impact of social media on factors contributing to national security, as has happened in the United Arab Emirates. Al-Khuwaish [6] suggests that security consists of different elements and their priorities are different for each person. These elements of security include social, political, economic, criminal, food, water, cultural, environmental and information security (environment and information are recent additions to security), all of which are interdependent. Al Huwaish [6] further demonstrates the interdependence of these security elements, resulting in failures in the broader security set if one element is lost or compromised.

This study explores two key questions: What is the impact of social media as one of the new media tools on national security from the perspective of youth? Secondly, can the level of national security in the UAE be predicted through the influence of social media on society from the perspective of youth? By exploring the views of UAE youth on the influence of social media in key areas including political, cultural, economic, security, social, ethical and religious domains, the findings of this study contribute to (a) increasing knowledge about social influence; the media through Arab youth’s perception of the country’s security level; and (b) reviewing the policies and laws relating to the operation of the country’s social media platforms, both within and outside the country. In parallel with developing concepts about young people’s perceptions of the impact of social media on national security, the next step in facilitating research is to consider the impact or, as Tawfik [7] suggests, the mitigation of negative social attributes. MASS MEDIA.

In the context of this study, Al-Khuwaish [6] suggests that national security includes interdependent elements, including social, political, economic, criminal, food, water, cultural, environmental and information security (environment and information). later security additions). Al-Suwaidi’s work [8] argues that 21st century communication tools, the Internet and related media platforms, and their excessive use in society, especially by youth, have led to these diverse social, economic, political, intellectual, ideological, moral, personal in the Arab world and levels of national security. Norrie-Cöderholm et al.’s work [9] suggests that social media poses a growing security threat that impacts privacy and is a key channel for the dissemination of information for political gain. This effect, Norri-Sederholm et al. [9] Tips of particular importance for young people as the Internet has become:

…a core part of their daily reality, not just a peripheral place to visit and share ideas with others. Social media also provides young people with connections and networks.
