Piers Morgan has revealed he's quitting Life Stories and is being replaced by pal Kate Garraway.
Posting to Twitter on Thursday evening, the 56-year-old former Good Morning Britain presenter wrote: "I’m quitting Life Stories after 12 years and 100 shows.
"My final one will be with my fabulous friend @kategarraway and she will then present the remaining 3 planned shows of the next series as I leave ITV to host my new global daily show. It's been a blast!"
Piers previously posted a tease about a big announcement to his Twitter account, writing: "Stand by for some news at 10pm…."
An accompanying GIF of a clock had the caption: "Tick Tock."
The outspoken journalist has presented Piers Morgan's Life Stories on ITV since 2009.
His departure from the series come after his abrupt departure from Good Morning Britain earlier this year, following a row over his comments about Meghan Markle in the wake of her and Prince Harry's explosive Oprah Winfrey interview.
He has since announced his new huge global TV and writing deal with Rupert Murdoch's The Sun and News Corp, working as a columnist and TV presenter respectively.
Kate joining Life Stories for the show's final three episodes follows a dramatic number of years for the Good Morning Britain presenter.
As well as appearing on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2019, her husband Derek Draper was hospitalised in March 2020 for over a year with Covid-19.
The 54-year-old documented Derek's troubles in the heartbreaking ITV documentary Finding Derek, for which the mother-of-two won a BAFTA Authored Documentary award earlier this year.
She additionally presents a radio show on Smooth Radio.
Piers' work with News Corp and The Sun follows him being cleared by Ofcom last month for his Good Morning Britain comments about Meghan Markle.
Celebrating his victory, he wrote: "I'm delighted OFCOM has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke & Duchess of Sussex's incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue.
"This is a resounding victory for free speech and a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchios."
He also asked: "Do I get my [GMB} job back?"
However, his step back from Life Stories further distances the presenter from ITV.
