Peter Andre slams ITV for not protecting Jeremy Kyle after his show was axed

Peter Andrehas spoken out in defence of his palJeremy Kyle.

The Mysterious Girl and Flava singer maintains ITV should have protected controversial presenter Jeremy when they axed his weekday morning talk show back in 2019.

The Jeremy Kyle Show, which was the most popular in ITV’s daytime schedule, cancelled after the death of Steve Dymond – a guest whose appearance was filmed the previous week but wasn’t actually aired in the end.

Peter said Jeremy really struggled after the show’s cancellation and the investigation that followed.

And now the 48-year-old thinks ITV basically made his friend their fall guy.

“In my opinion, the network should have protected him as he was made a scapegoat when one of his past guests allegedly took his own life”, he wrote.

Katie Price's ex husband Peter went on to reference other programmes that have fallen victim to similar events and haven’t been pulled off air.

“There are other shows like Love Island who have lost people and the show is still on air”.

Daily Star have contacted ITV for a comment.

Peter's wife Emily logged into her social media account on Tuesday to share an emotional back to school post.

The couple have two children together, Theodore, four, and Amelia, seven, who go by Theo and Millie.

Dr Emily captioned the post of her children in their school uniforms with: “Wow what an emotional morning. Theo’s first day at school, and I can’t believe my little one is so grown up!

“For the first time making two snacks and two drinks instead of one! To see them both together, Millie looking after him, really warmed my heart.

“The embarrassing part is that there was tears from only one person… and it wasn’t either of the children!! There’s something overwhelming about your baby starting school for the first time, but I know he is going to learn so much and come out of his shell even more.

“I always say this but I can’t wait to see what he is good at, what he loves doing, and what he ends up doing in his life! And that all started today.

“To any mums out there who were crying at the school gate – I’m with you!! @peterandre #backtoschool #mumlife #growingup."
