Inside EastEnders Jean Slater actress Gillian Wrights stunning home

EastEnders' actress Gillian Wright, who plays fan favourite Jean Slater in the soap, has shared a glimpse into her offscreen life at her stunning home with a cute rescue dog called Scruff.

Scruff can often be seen in the adorable photos that Gillian shares of him on Instagram, wearing a tartan scarf and nestling down on the sofa as he looks out the window for the postman.

She also posted a sweet snap of her and Scruff, calling the pooch 'my four legged soul mate' in the caption.

Gillian, 61, also shows off her stunning home in the photos, which features chic furniture including a cream sofa and patterned cushions.

The actress has played Jean Slater since 2004, and in between scenes, she has another incredible talent for crafts including knitting, crochet and needlework.

On one Instagram post, she shared a photo of a fabric mermaid with a multicoloured tail and wearing headphones, lying on her bed at home.

The actress said it was 'hand made between scenes' of the popular BBC soap.

In other photos, she also shared photos of other creations such as knitted door stops adorned with roses.

During lockdown, like many people across the country, Gillian also crafted items while at home and on Instagram she posted a picture of a multi-coloured blanket that she had made, with the caption 'Ta da! Lockdown blanket finally finished!'

The gorgeous grey blanket featured a retro pattern design, with multi-coloured circles completing the design.

Fans and fellow EastEnders actors commented on the photo, saying "gorgeous" and "that is lovely, well done."

Another said "stunning! You clever girl", with a fourth saying "I love the colours."

Outside of her home, Gillian also has her own allotment where she grows vegetables, calling it "a present that just keeps on giving" in photos of the crops she grown.

She also shows off her love for gardening, placing bouquets of fresh flowers in vases at home on beautiful wooden tables and surfaces, with one photo captioned "Wish you could smell them."

With a flair for the garden and incredible knitted crafts, Gillian has shown that she is as talented off screen as she is on screen.
