It has Latin roots, which mean “light-giving”. Currently on the name is ranked fifth most popular in 2021. Philip appears, at first, to be a nod to Prince Philip.

The 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh has recently gone through heart surgery and is currently recovering.

However, the name serves a double meaning as it is also the name of Muke Tindall’s father.

Mike, a former England rugby player, announced the news on his podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.

He disclosed the little boy was born on Sunday.

Mike said: “Sunday got even better because a little baby boy arrived at my house.”

He initially announced the news of the pregnancy back in December on the podcast.

He said: “It’s been a good week for me, had a little scan last week – third Tindall on its way.”

Lucas is the family’s third child. They also have Mia Grace, their eldest daughter, and Lena Elizabeth.

Lena’s middle name is a clear nod to Zara’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Another Royal Family baby was born recently, Pippa Middleton’s second child and first daughter.

The niece of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa chose the name Grace Elizabeth Jane.

It’s been an exciting year for royal babies so far as Princess Eugenie also had her first child.

Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank had August Philip Hawke Brooksbank on February 9.

The little boy also appears to have been named with a nod to Prince Philip.

A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present. The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news.

“This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

In other royal news, Kate Middleton wore white to return to Westminster Abbey just shy of her 10 year wedding anniversary.

The Catherine Walker number featured a delicate ivory floral lace which according to the designer “has been hand-applied to the front” of the wool coat.

Similar pieces from the designer cost around £3,000.

The Duke and Duchess were there to honour the one year anniversary of lockdown.
