Woman shares £10 Ikea hack to keep kids' toys tidy

Struggling to keep kids’ toys tidy? One mum has shared a genius organisation hack – and it costs just over £10.

Writing on popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the woman shared her solution to stop her daughter’s toys being left on the floor.

She hung an Ikea rail on the wall, and used its hooks to hang cheap mesh bags bought from Aldi. Her daughter’s small toys can be stashed in the bags, safely out of the way.

‘Never put a shelf up or anything in my life. Needed something to keep all my daughter’s Sylvanian Families off the floor so her little sisters don’t break them,’ she wrote.

‘Rail with hooks £10 from IKEA. Mesh bags 25p each from Aldi (reusable bags for fruit and veg) And yes I do realise the wallpaper is upside down.’

The rail is Ikea’s minimalist white Kubbis design, and comes with seven hooks.

The mum went on to explain that she didn’t even need a spirit level to get the rail straight on the wall – she just used an app on her phone.

Other members of the group commented on how clever the idea was, with one suggesting that it would also work for Lego, Barbie accessories and Playmobil.

Another Facebook user wrote: ‘I use these bags for my babies small sensory toys, saves them getting lost under all the teddies in the toy basket!’

We think it’s genius – and we didn’t even notice the wallpaper was upside down.
