Have you ever wondered what your favourite young stars from the Harry Potter movies are up to now?

Here we take a look back at the famous faces – including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint – and find out just what they've been up to since the first ever movie was released in 2001 and finished in 2011.

We've seen how actor Harry Melling – who played Dudley Dursley – has become totally unrecognisable as he's grown older. And actress Jessie Cave, who appeared as Lavender Brown from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, has gone on to have three children, sharing details of her "extreme" labour.

Harry Melling

As Dudley Dursley, Harry Potter's cousin and nemesis while growing up in the muggle world, Harry Melling was part of the film series until the penultimate film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, which released in 2010.

During filming, the 31-year-old began losing weight, and was close to being re-cast for his final film in the trilogy and in order to keep his role he had ti wear a fat suit so that he could have a resemblance to his on-screen character.

The actor has totally transformed the way he looks after losing weight, and has since gone on to enjoy a career in theatre as well as appearing in Netflix films The Old Guard, psychological thriller The Devil All The Time and series The Queen's Gambit.

Jessie Cave

Jessie Cave portrayed the Ron Weasley-obsessed Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter franchise joining the cast in the sixth movie.

The actress has gone on to carve a successful career in television, appearing in Netflix series Black Mirror, Call the Midwife, and as Heather in Sky One drama Trollied.

The mum recently gave birth to her third child Abraham with her comedian partner Alfie Brown, who she also shares son Donnie, six, and four year old daughter Margot with.

Matthew Lewis

Neville Longbottom took on a couple of stage and screen roles following the end of the Harry Potter series – but it was his topless cover for Attitude magazine last year which has caused the biggest stir.

The now 31 year old has undergone a complete transformation since starring as the chubby unlikely hero.

The raunchy shoot even prompted a tweet from Harry Potter author J.K Rowling: "@Mattdavelewis Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God's sake."

He's enjoyed success on TV in series like Happy Valley, Ripper Street, All Creatures Great and Small, and bagged movie roles in Me Before You alongside Emilia Clarke, and Terminal.

Daniel Radcliffe

The boy wizard has pretty much transformed his career since taking on the role aged 10.

At 17 he took the lead role in the play Equus in a bid to prove himself as an adult actor – it even featured a nude scene!

Daniel has since gone on to appear in numerous blockbusters with a host of other superstars including Anne Hathaway and Jeff Goldblum in his flick The Modern Ocean.

He even had a cameo voicing a character in The Simpsons and has appeared in TV series Miracle Workers.

Tom Felton

Malfoy also went on to star in a number of other pictures – his most recent being the biblical drama Risen.

Emma Watson

Although she has continued to make quite a name for herself in movies – it's outside of the film industry where Hermione Granger has gone on to do some of her best work.

In July 2014, she was appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and she was even placed at number 26 in the TIME 100 world's most influential people list!

Emma has starred in plenty of movies since, went back to school and has appeared on the cover of Vogue.

Alfred Enoch

The Dean Thomas actor made the transition to the small screen when filming wrapped on the final Harry Potter movie in 2011.

Did you spot him in an episode of Broadchurch in 2013? Or in series 3 of Sherlock?

Alfred also moved to the US after landing a lead role on the ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder!

Bonnie Wright

She may only briefly appear in the first Harry Potter movie – but little Ginny Weasley has remained in the spotlight after starring roles in the subsequent seven instalments.

Bonnie not only continued with her acting career but was snapped up by the prestigious Next Models agency.

Let's not forget she was also crowned star baker on The Great Sport Relief Bake Off in 2014.

Rupert Grint

Ron Weasley has remained pretty much under the radar since the final Potter film was released in 2011.

The actor has starred in a movies including Wild Target in 2010 alongside Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy.

He also made a cameo in the video for Ed Sheeran's hit Lego House in 2011, and gone on to appear in TV series Snatch, The ABC Murders and Servant.

The 32 year old actor most recently had his first child with fellow actress Georgia Groome, they welcomed a daughter in May 2020.

Josh Herdman

After appearing in all eight Harry Potter films as Malfoy's sidekick Gregory Goyle – Josh decided to become a cage fighter.

The 33 year old made his debut as an MMA fighter by beating his Polish opponent Janusz Walachowski at the match in Romford, East London.

Although he admitted he isn't giving up on his acting dream altogether, Josh has kept his agent and insisted he will still be attending auditions.
