If you’re a savvy shopper and constantly hunting down the newest fashion trends via social media then this AI fashion shop could be right up your street.
In a first of its kind, the Trending Store pop-up in Westfield London is using AI to track social media fashion trends in real time.
The shop will exclusively only stock the 100 trending pieces on social media and they will change each day dependent on what is most popular.
The fashion boutique will then allow customers to browse and buy the full range of clothing and accessories in store with all proceeds going towards charity Save the Children.

So how does it work? Using the power of machine learning, Next Atlas will track over 400,000 fashion influencers in 1,000 cities via social media to find out what items of clothing and accessories are popular that day.
It will then be the job of a team of Westfield stylists to find the 100 items, or something similar, within the shopping centre, so that the items are ready for shoppers that same day.
Westfield’s marketing chief Myf Ryan said about the concept shop: ‘Online, shoppers are inspired by influencers and used to being guided by AI, with products served to them based on their behaviour.
‘Usually, this guidance does not translate to a physical retail space, however, working with data analysts, NextAtlas, we are able to bring our shoppers products that are trending in real time – a true reflection of social conversation brought to life in a physical space.’

Open until Sunday the shop means that you could get your hands on the latest trends quicker than ever has been possible before. And if it goes well then the concept could pave the way for other similar shops.
Also, if you’re feeling lucky you can try out their vending prize machine – where customers can tap to donate £5/£10/£20 to Save the Children in return for a top trending prize valued up to £100.
From apps to VR, technology has crept into the fashion world over the last few years.
Earlier this year Amazon revealed it was creating a virtual fitting room fashion app which will be able to predict a customer’s style by looking through their social media pictures.
