A Scottish estate which has eight lochs has gone on sale for the same price as a one-bedroom flat in London.
For the same price as a one-bed apartment in upmarket Kensington, property hunters could bad themselves a sprawling Scottish estate with eight lochs.
Morefield Estate is spread over 4648 acres in Scotland's northwest. It is an extensive sporting and amenity estate and is on the market for offers over £1.1million.
The property offers several lakes, which means it could be a great home for buyers who are keen on a spot of fishing.
"Loch Dubh", which translates to "Black Loch" in Scottish Gaelic, is the largest lake on the property, with the others spread over 298 acres, GlasgowLive reports.
Owners also get a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home, with a conservatory, "tower room", and even a picturesque stream in the front garden.
According to estate agents Strutt & Parker, the garden and wooded area were "expertly created" by the previous owners, who had a passion for the environment.
The property description reads: "The land lies from nearly sea level, close to Loch Kanaird to approximately 298m at the summit of Creag na-h-Iolaire.
"The upper part of the estate provides far reaching views to the west, to the magnificent Summer Isles and to iconic mountains such as Stac Pollaidh.
"The majority of estate is subject to crofting common grazing rights.
It continues: "The common grazings are the Ardmair, Rhue, Strathain and Glutton grazings.
"This means there are various parties who have 3rd party grazing rights over the majority of the land.
"Of traditional stone and slate construction, the house has been extended from the original cottage to provide the current accommodation. Some of the ground floor benefits from under floor heating courtesy of a ground floor heat pump."
The property also comes with its own wind 15kw wind turbines. The previous residents were also approached by developers, which could signal the site having wind farm potential.
Solar panels are situated around the estate, which provide energy to the house and to its under floor heating.
Euan MacCrimmon, Senior Associate Director, Estates and Farm Agency, says: “Located in one of the most alluring spots on the North West coast, Morefield Estate offers a truly rare opportunity to purchase a piece of tranquillity in the Scottish Highlands.
"Previously, demand for Scottish estates has been underpinned by those who are interested in the sporting aspects, of which Morefield Estate has plenty, but with its added environmental potential, we expect to see a larger range of buyers come forward, alongside those who are interested in the more traditional pursuits.”
