SOMEONE, somehow, is transmitting noises into our home.
I’ve removed floorboards and searched all over but can’t find anything. I think someone is trying to drive me insane.
It starts with a tumble drier, then a dripping tap. In the early hours, it’s loud bells.
When I asked the police for help, they said to contact our local environmental health officer.
But they have failed to record the noises.
I even found what I thought was a reputable private detective agency which promised to send monitoring equipment. But that was a waste of time and cost me a lot of money.
This has been going on for five years now. I’m desperate.
DEIDRE SAYS: All homes make noises and most are completely harmless.
As the air cools and becomes less humid, materials in your house will contract, creating rattling and creaking noises, especially at night.
If you are still convinced someone is messing around, keep a diary so you can note any patterns and go back to the police.
You might have tinnitus, which can sound like ringing, humming, hissing, music or buzzing. Do check this with your GP.
