For those looking for a new savings account, heading to AA will give them the best deal from a high-profile name.
Martin said: “AA has pipped the Post Office as the new top easy-access savings account from a big name, paying 1.47 per cent AER -including fixed bonus of 1.27 per cent for 12 months and can be opened with a minimum of £100 over the phone or online.
“The Post Office pays 1.45 per cent AER – including 1.2 per cent fixed bonus – and can be opened online with £1.”
For those who are willing to take out an account with a new bank, market leader Marcus offers 1.5 per cent AER.
Martin said: “All have unlimited withdrawals, and the same £85k UK savings protection so you could just go for the highest rate, but I know many want a big name.
“As they all include a fixed bonus for one year, meaning rates will plummet after 12 months, look to switch to a higher rate at that point.”

If looking to save some money while shopping, Martin revealed how some viewers could get £5 off when they spent £20 at Amazon.
He said: “If you’ve a Prime account, sign in and check if you’re eligible for a ‘free’ £5 promo code.
“If you are eligible, download and sign in to the free Amazon Music app for the first time by 11.59pm on Sunday 30 June, and you’ll be emailed a £5 code by Sunday 7 July.
“You can use the code until 25 July on orders of £20 or more that are sold and dispatched by Amazon and not third-parties.”
Some eBay shoppers will be able to save money on already discounted items.
Martin explained: “You can get 20 per cent extra off already-reduced items at 108 eBay outlets, when you spend £25+ and enter the code PURE20 until 11.59pm tonight.”
Earlier this week, Martin appeared on This Morning to explain financial abuse and reveal what people can do if they find themselves in that situation.
Recently, the expert said unfair bank charges could be scrapped.
