I tried Oodie dupes – I avoided putting my heating on with the £14 high street winner | The Sun

OODIES, slankets and snuddies are all designed to keep you warm and comfy at home.

And with freezing temperatures and snow predicted across the UK this March, you might need one to keep you warm.

An Oodie will set you back a pretty penny though at nearly £70.

So are there any alternatives that might stave off the cold and help you keep the thermostat down until spring arrives?

Lynsey Hope, 41, from West Malling, Kent, tried out several of the best-sellers.

Here she shares her verdict.

Asda Dream Big Slogan Print Snuggle Hoodie

  • £18, asda.com

I thought this offering from Asda was great value. It's very soft, light and comfy to wear.

It's not as thick as others but I was able to wear it for longer without getting uncomfortable.

I wished it had a pocket to keep my hands warm, or to pop my phone in when I was moving about. It comes up quite big in size.

Kudd.ly Hoodie Blanket

  • £49, kudd.ly
There are a big range of designs from Kudd.ly but are on the pricier sideCredit: Darren Fletcher

This was incredibly soft, inside and out.

It's huge but very comfy and you can tell it's made from good quality materials.

I liked the range of designs too, especially this tie-die print.

I also loved the large front pocket for keeping my hands warm and the cosy, sherpa fleece material on the inside.

It washed really well too.

Silentnight Snugsie Oversized Hoodie

This is a warm, oversized hoodie made from a warm fleece fabric.

Perfect for slouching on the sofa in the evening, working from home or even sitting around a campfire. This is sure to keep you toasty and warm.

The pocket on the front was perfect for keeping hands warm. I loved the slight sparkle in the design too.

It's supersized, one size fits all

Oodie Hooded Blanket

  • £69, prezzybox.com

Oodies are a super soft blanket and hoodie hybrid with a fleece exterior and a lining made with cosy sherpa fleece.

It might not be the most stylish piece of apparel you own but it may well be the most comfortable.

I liked that it was slightly longer and wider than some of the others we tried, but my only complaint is that it was quite heavy to wear.

I got too hot wearing it. I couldn't keep it on all evening. On the plus side, I've not needed the heating on at all whilst wearing it so this is ideal for freezing temperatures.

Because of the weight, you can only really sit still. It might be good for working at desk in the cold too.

It is incredibly soft inside and out and washed up well and I believe this would stand the test of time.

Primark Tie-Dye Unicorn Snuddie

  • £14, primark.com

I loved this 'snuddie' from Primark.

It's not as thick as some of the more expensive ones I tried but this is both super soft and super comfy, I didn't want to take it off.

I was able to potter around doing things at home with it on and was able to watch TV before bed without putting the heating on.

There are many lovely designs on offer at Primark – everything from burgers to Winnie the Pooh.

Given the bargain price, this is my winner.

GC Gaveno Cavailia Super Warm Hooded Blanket

  • £19.99, amazon.co.uk

Amazon is selling a wearable blanket with a lovely big Kangaroo pocket on.

This which was great for keeping hands warm and putting my phone in.

I liked the navy blue colour and the material felt lovely and soft.

It did sometimes leave a lot of fluff on whatever I had on underneath, which was a bit of a pain.

It's a good price though.

Pretty Secrets Wearable Blanket

  • £30, simplybe.co.uk

This felt a little more like a luxury dressing gown, but I loved gliding about the house in it.

It didn't have a hood. It's made of polyester but was still incredibly soft.
