Gregg Wallace has revealed he suspects his son Sid, 2, could be autistic, but has said he has improved enormously since he started to see a speech therapist.

The MasterChef judge, 57, and his second wife Anne-Marie, 35, welcomed their first child Sid in May 2019, and the little boy is Gregg’s third child.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Peckham-born Gregg explained that Sid had yet to talk, and the pair were consulting medical professionals to get a diagnosis.

However the TV chef admitted they weren’t too concerned as he is a ‘happy and confident boy’.

Gregg Wallace has revealed he suspects his son Sid, 2, both seen, could be autistic, but has said he has improved enormously since he started to see a speech therapist

Describing the youngster as ‘cuddly, social and with no anger issues’, Gregg said that Sid can even find cartoons in nursery – and has started interacting more and making eye contact since seeing a therapist.

‘He’s nonverbal,’ Gregg said. ‘We don’t know what it is. We suspect autism but neither of us is medically qualified.

‘He’s a very happy boy. Very confident. We love him dearly. We’re not overly concerned. He’s very young.’

Referring to his recent improvement, he added: ‘So we are optimistic. We’re not scared. We’re not nervous. We’re also excited, because we don’t know how he’s going to develop. We have no idea. He could be seriously into something — we don’t know what it is yet.’

The MasterChef judge, 57, and his second wife Anne-Marie, 35, seen, welcomed their first child Sid in May 2019, and the little boy is Gregg’s third child

The MasterChef star welcomed his third child, Syd, with Anne-Marie in May 2019, and Gregg also has children Tom and Libby – both in their 20s – from his previous marriage to pastry chef Denise.

Gregg and Denise wed in 1999 and divorced in 2004, with the former winning full custody of their children.

He eventually met Anne-Marie on Twitter in 2013, with the couple marrying three years later in August 2016 at Hever Castle in Kent.

Gregg welcomed his first child with wife Anna in May 2019, and they live in Kent along with her parents and his children – making it a full house.

Gregg’s one condition when it came to having children with Anne-Marie was that he would get his wife to himself for two weeks of the year

Gregg has previously noted that it is the almost 22-year age difference between them that has driven him to be fit and healthy over the last two years while altering his decision to have no more children.

Speaking to Absolute radio host Dave Berry on the new season of his podcast Dadpod, he explained: ‘The truth is, I’m so madly in love with Anna. I said to her I wouldn’t choose to have children, not at my age. But it’s what you want. What you want, I want.’

He added of his relationship with Anne-Marie: ‘I think if you fall in love with a young woman and you tell you don’t want children; I don’t think you actually love that woman.’

However, Gregg’s one condition when it came to having children with Anne-Marie was that he would get his wife to himself for two weeks of the year.

The doting father explained: ‘We made we made two provisions… get help in the house and I want two weeks holiday with you (Anna) selfishly on my own.’
