At the time of writing, there are a whopping 48 days until the man in red arrives on December 25th. Old Saint Nick still has his feet firmly up and Thanksgiving is still to come.
However, for many full-on festive enthusiasts, the darker nights and colder days mean only one thing, it’s time to deck those halls.
On social media, there are already hundreds of photos of people showing off their yuletide decorations, with baubles gleaming and fairy lights twinkling.
If there’s an undercurrent of admitting it’s way too early – in some people’s eyes, at least – to put up a Christmas tree, those in the yuletide mood are pressing ahead anyway.
One November reveller, seeing the look of delight on her toddler’s face at the sparkly addition to their home, wrote: ‘I 100% acknowledge that it is way too early for this. I also 100% acknowledge that based on her reaction this isn’t going to slow down anytime soon. #Christmasinnovember #likereallyearlynovember’.
