Coronation Streets original Jackson stars life now including milestone with boyfriend

After a six-year absence, the character Jackson Hodge has made his big return to Coronation Street but he's now played by a different actor.

The return of Jackson has left viewers wondering what happened to the actor who originally starred in the role and why the character has been recast.

The original cast member who played Jackson in the key role was Rhys Cadman in 2015 and again during a brief return in 2017.

Long-time viewers of the show may remember that during this time Jackson was the father of Miley, Faye Windass' daughter, who was born back in 2015.

Fans followed actor Rhys' dramatic custody storyline, with his parents taking care of Miley and moving to Canada.

In 2017, Jackson and Miley briefly returned to Weatherfield after Faye spotted her daughter at Weatherfield General before they departed.

However, Faye received a message from Jackson but chose to ignore it, leading to Jackson turning up at Tim and Sally Metcalfe's doorstep eager to see his daughter and Faye.

Now after six years the character Jackson returns with actor Joseph Evans taking over the role.

So as we welcome a new actor to the cobbles, it appears Rhys is now living a loved-up life of his own off-screen with his boyfriend, Murray.

The former Corrie star often takes to social media to share snaps with his 16.5k followers, including exciting news of his relationship.

In one post shared Rhys announced that the pair were taking their relationship to the next level and moving in together.

“I can’t believe that we’re officially moving in together this year, as well as finishing university.

"I can’t even describe how excited I am!,” he gushed, followed by a love heart emoji.

Another snap which showed the pair smiling at the camera as they embraced, read: “You’re my best frienddddd.”

Fans were quick to comment on the handsome couple post.

“Very beautiful picture,” said one fan.

Another added: “Might be double trouble but I'd say absolute perfection personified – Unbelievable, beautiful, gorgeous and of course fabulous xx”

A third gushed: “You both look absolutely gorgeous.”

The Oldham-born star has also appeared in Appropriate Adult, Shameless, Doctors and Love, Lies and Records as well as the films Northern Lights and Murdered for Being Different and in television adverts for fast food chain McDonald's and Currys PC World.
