Teigen to the rescue.
Chrissy Teigen has come to Meghan Markle’s defense in light of the increased tabloid scrutiny she’s been facing ahead of her and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“This Meghan Markle s–t is hitting too close to home for me,” Teigen tweeted Friday. “These people won’t stop until she miscarries. F–king stop it.”
It’s the second time Teigen, 35, has come to Markle’s defense recently. In November, shortly after Teigen suffered a pregnancy loss with husband John Legend, she went after a Twitter user who questioned Markle’s decision to detail her own miscarriage in an op-ed for the New York Times.
The 39-year-old Markle is at the center of a media storm this week, as her and Harry’s much-hyped sit-down with Oprah Winfrey approaches its airdate. Buckingham Palace announced its intention to investigate claims of bullying made against Markle by a former staffer, even as others in Markle’s past have flocked to her defense.
Pauline Maclaran, author of “Royal Fever: The British Monarchy in Consumer Culture,” said this week that the upcoming duke and duchess’s CBS special is “a bigger danger than the Prince Andrew car-crash interview.”
“I think that Meghan is going to get a lot of sympathy, particularly from American audiences, about her position being untenable,” Maclaran said.
