It overtook Prince Philip’s funeral, which is the second most talked about royal story of the year.

As for what Kate and William’s most talked about moment of the year was, their tenth wedding anniversary made a splash with a BBC documentary and intimate Instagram post from the couple.

The anniversary caused interest in the couple to rise 410 percent above their yearly average.

The Queen was the third most talked about royal, alongside her late husband, Prince Philip.

The monarch was searched for the most in April during her husband’s funeral where she was pictured sitting alone in St George’s Chapel, with searches for the monarch surging 279 percent.

As for the rising star of the Royal Family, Lady Louise Windsor was talked about 165 percent more in 2021 from 2020.

Interest Prince Edward’s daughter peaked during Prince Philip’s funeral.

A spokesperson for Lucky Creek commented on the findings: “Meghan and Harry’s departure from working royal life in 2020 sent shockwaves across the world and this data reveals that their influence has only continued to grow.

“This year has been incredibly eventful for the entire Royal Family and it is fascinating to see Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey being hailed as the most talked about royal moment of the year.

“It is truly a testament to the couple’s influence that they have captured the world’s attention despite very few public appearances.”

It is thought Meghan and Harry won’t be returning to the UK over Christmas and New Year.

Instead, they will reside in Montecito, California.

The Queen has also cancelled her Christmas plans at Sandringham in favour of Windsor Castle.
