A body-positive influencer has shown off her back hair to millions of TikTok followers to show women it is normal to have body hair.
Spencer Barbosa uses her platform of 6.4 million followers to encourage people to "treat yourself like someone you love", according to her bio.
She regularly posts about her own body to normalise parts that the cruel world of social media can sometimes shame – with everything from hip dips to body hair.
In a post she made over the weekend, she called for "girls with back hair to unite" and quotes a comment she has heard before, saying: "Girls shouldn't have back hair."
The clip, which has received over 917,000 likes in two days, shows some thin dark hairs on Babosa's lower back before she turns to face the camera and lip-syncs with a track that says: "I'm sorry, I didn't ask for a glass of your opinion."
The post seemed to work as intended as thousands of women flocked to the comments, not only to offer praise for the post but also to share how they were convinced their body hair wasn't normal.
One user wrote: "So it’s normal? I’m so conscious about my back hair."
Another added: "For everyone who is like “shave it”, how the heck do you want us to shave it if it’s on our back? I’m genuinely asking!"
A third said: "People if you have a preference for no body hair don’t hate others who have body hair it’s their body and whatever they like is that be respectful."
A fourth commented: "The fact that I’m only confident because of you."
