The Hermès men’s Summer 2022 runway show at Paris Fashion Week featured a breezy and detail-oriented range of apparel and accessories fit for all occasions in the post-pandemic world. In this collection, Hermès artistic director Véronique Nichanian expressed a carefree spirit through meticulously crafted items.
Found in the product mix are skate decks elegantly integrated into the base of two new variations of the 45cm classic leather Bolide bag. A Tech Deck-like charm hangs from the handle eliminating any doubts that the bottoms of the smooth grain shoulder bags are in fact, skateboards.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the luxury fashion house has incorporated skate culture into its products. Hermès released a series of longboards and penny boards back in 2017 dressed in three classic designs previously found on its silk scarves. High fashion taking inspiration from skate culture seems to be on an uptick with Dior skate-shoe-inspired silhouettes teased earlier this month.
