Gucci's "Hollywood Forever" Sunglasses Serve Vintage Glamour

You can always count on Alessandro Michele of Gucci to give us some vintage glam, and the house’s new “Hollywood Forever” series does not disappoint.

The limited-run of sunglasses will be available for just two weeks — just in case you needed convincing anymore to pick up a pair of the dazzling sunnies. Gucci’s range is inspired by the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, with each sporting a whimsical twist that elevates the Hollywood glam a step further by adding a variety of treatments to each pair.

For example, the round-frame sunglasses (which were presented for the “Ouverture” collection), feature a gold metal frame that’s been hand-encrusted with pavé crystals, violent-tinted lenses that are surrounded by more crystals, and Gucci scripture on the bridge.

The ’50s-esque cat-eye frames are made from black acetate and combine pavé crystals with the signature interlocking “GG” emblem on the arms, while the black rectangular frames take on a similar approach but add pink lenses instead of the former’s gray lenses.

Rounding out the collection are the geometric-frame sunglasses made with gold frames and more crystals, and a standout pair of love heart-shaped shades that feature a mother of pearl-effect gold frame and pavé crystals around the pink lenses.
