Introducing the foundation of its concept of “uniform,” Brooklyn-based small-scale, rapid prototyping factory, 893, is now presenting its original “SPECIMEN Boots.” Designed to express “form and function from the ground up,” the footwear is an example of 893’s finely crafted wares influenced by and representing all forms of counter-culture.
893’s mission statement reads, “We believe in purity of concept, and our intention is to provide real, honest perspective in tangible form. We are passionate about providing high-quality products, focusing on permanence rather than overabundance. The mission is to help shift the balance of power away from large corporations and have freedom of concept.”
Arriving in a sleek black “Necro” colorway and subtle contrast “Chrome” take, SPECIMEN Boots feature either reverse leather or pre-distressed satin leather uppers with calf leather linings. The dynamic stitched and paneled design is further accented by three thick lockdown straps and the signature 893 Bio-Spine padded tongues. Made in Italy, elevating the shoes are Goodyear welt construction midsoles paired with Vibram lugged outsoles.
Priced at $1,075 USD, the SPECIMEN Boots are available in “Necro” and “Chrome” for pre-order ($975 USD) on 893’s website until March 8, with shipping set for sometime this June-July.
