The married couple temporarily lost custody of their children after there was news that Eason allegedly shot and killed his wife’s dog. Her mother, Barbara Evans had custody of their daughter, Ensley and continued to have custody of Evans’ son, Jace. Evans’ ex, Nathan Griffith had custody of their son, Kaiser. Eason’s ex, Whitney Johnson had custody of their daughter, Maryssa.
The couple during that time reportedly had to complete counseling, drug testing, and parenting classes. Their custody battle has ended with the judge ruling that they get the custody of their children back except for Jace.
“Today [was] the final day we were in court from 9am-6pm,” Evans told Champion Daily. “She didn’t find any evidence against us of neglect or abuse of any sort.”
The mother revealed teachers of Ensley and Kaiser testified how they “were as parents for the past 2 years.” She also addressed the custody of her oldest son.
Evans said she wants full custody of Jace
The reality star’s oldest son has been with her mother for some time now. Barbara is his legal guardian and Jenelle gets supervised visits. She noted that she wanted to change after winning back custody.
“Jace will remain with my mom, normal schedule every other weekend visits and two-week visits on school breaks,” explained Evans. She did say that she is “planning on getting full custody” of him.
Griffith tweeted how people can complain about the judge
The father of Kaiser doesn’t seem happy about the judge’s decision to give custody back to the married couple. He tweeted what people can do about it.
“I’ve calm down a bit and just relying on my faith at this moment. I’m not going to put my two cents in but if anyone wants to put their input, you can visit: (link: https://survey.nccourts.org/1480690875) survey.nccourts.org/1480690875 to complete a survey. Any input will help. The judge’s name is Pauline Hankins. TY #TeamGriffith,” he wrote.
The link goes to a North Carolina Judicial Standards Complaint Form. Fans in the comments were reacting to the situation. “Nathan, praying for you, Kaiser & your family. Keeping the faith an appeal will result in a different outcome. Please continue your fight for permanent custody. #TeamGriffith,” one person replied.
Not everyone is thrilled that Griffith tweeted for people to file complaints. Someone else wrote, “Having a bunch of fans most who are probably teens or immature young adults harass the courts, will not look good for you. The judge did her job. There were accusations but there was no actual proof of any abuse or neglect.”
Evans more recently tweeted a slight diss to her ex. “One of the hardest issues of my life consists of dealing with the most immature people that cannot co-parent,” she tweeted.
This custody battle might not be over since Griffith isn’t happy with the outcome. There is also a report that Child Protective Services plans to appeal the decision.
