Swedish TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson, 54, has taken to Instagram to post a heartbreaking picture of her daughter Bo after undergoing open-heart surgery as a baby. Bo was born with a double inlet left ventricle defect, a congenital defect that affects the valves and chambers of the heart. In her post, Ulrika revealed that it was 20 years ago to the day Bo had heart surgery to treat her condition. Ulrika has previously spoken about how her partner and Bo’s father “abandoned” them both after the newborn underwent surgery for her condition.

In the picture of her daughter in the pediatric intensive care unit, Bo had a large red scar running down her chest as well as multiple tubes coming out of her body.
Ulrika also posted a sweet black and white snap of her and her daughter pulling funny faces at the camera.
The mother-of-four has previously spoken about her agony of Bo’s father walking out following her heart operation.
Ulrika explained that he accepted a job abroad shortly after she gave birth.
The Gladiator host wrote: “As I was in [the] hospital struggling to get my baby out, he was outside the labour ward smoking Gauloises cigarettes and plotting his escape.
“After her first operation at six days old, I was allowed to take her home. On the way, in the car, he announced he’d accepted a job abroad and would be leaving imminently.
“I sat in the back of the car, cradling my child – not ours.
“I knew she was chronically ill, might not survive future cardiac operations — and had just been abandoned by one-half of her parents,” she wrote in her column for The Sun.
Ulrika also recently revealed that she is worried about her daughter meeting her father for the first time since she was a baby
Bo is currently working on a Greek Island as a nanny and explained in an article that she had decided not to meet her father after he reached out to her on social media while he was also in Corfu.
The childcare professional said that she has “no space” for her dad to be in her life right now, but didn’t rule out the possibility of one day meeting him with her mum by her side.
In a new column, Bo has told how when shown photos of Markus by her mum, she felt “nothing”, adding: “She might as well have shown me a stranger.”
She went on to say that she felt “no real intrigue”, which she put down to her “settled childhood”.
Bo never expressed any interest in finding out what happened between the pair and only read about it by chance after spotting Ulrika’s autobiography, ‘Honest’, recently, which made her “cry her eyes out”.
Back in April, Bo, who has a congenital heart defect – was rushed to hospital, although Ulrika did not specify why at the time.
Ulrika’s daughter has been in and out of hospital over the years as a result of her condition.
