Stephanie Davis has shared an emotional and raw post on Instagram detailing her depression battle which led her to attempt suicide.
The former Hollyoaks actress posted a lengthy statement explaining what she had been through and a video of herself sobbing.
She insisted she is now feeling much better but she wanted to post about her dark thoughts to raise awareness and urge her followers to reach out if they felt the same.
The inspiring post read: "This photo was my first walk out, breathing in the air, feeling the wind on my face, praying for hope, yet still trying to fight the pain that had over took my mind body & soul after I tried to kill my self, & ended up in intensive care.
"I don't know how I'm here, but someone was defiantly watching over me, as I am so lucky to be here [sic],".
She also shared a a video from before the suicide attempt which showed her deeply distressed and sobbing.
Steph is mum to a three-year-old son named Caben-Albi she shares with ex boyfriend Jeremy McConnell.
She also included a smiling photo with Caben and a photo of her looking out upon a lake on a jetty, to demonstrate how normal and happy her life looked from the outside.
But the photo with her son was shortly after she was reunited with him, following her hospital stay.
She spoke of how grateful she was she survived, and she said she was proud of herself for how far she has come.
"I’m posting this to help others, it was a video I was sadly leaving behind when I wasn’t in a good place, I’ve Never been in so much pain in my life," she wrote.
"I’m so proud of my self for how far I’ve come in such a short time with my amazing beautiful son, family and friends with their unconditional love & strength for carrying me when I could not walk my self. The light is back."
She continued: "Everyone is fighting battles we don’t know about. I know i have to carry on the message to help others, and I will!! Fighter, always have been always will be! If anyone needs help please call 116 123.
"If it’s not ok it’s not the end."
Stephanie has been in recovery since she entered rehab for alcoholism in 2017, and last year she got a tattoo to remember her struggles with booze.
She had returned to Hollyoaks three years after she had her contract terminated.
MirrorOnline has reached out to a rep for Steph for comment.
