Mark Labbett has taken to Twitter to share a passionate defence of his co-star Jenny Ryan. The Chaser had a tough time on today’s edition of the ITV quiz show as Mark took to social media to air his thoughts.

However, Mark has admitted it was down to “horrible questions” in view of his 147,000 Twitter followers.

On tonight’s edition of The Chase, Jenny managed to only score 11 in her final round.

Following its airing, Mark took to Twitter to defend his co-star.

He penned: “Any chaser can be made to look bad with a horrible set of questions 🙁 #thechase.”

Many of the quizzers’ followers then replied to the star.

Fan Dominic G Martin wrote: “Thought the final chase questions were brutal today, really felt for Jenny. 🙁

“It’s never nice seeing you guys take a beating – thankfully it’s a rare occurrence!”

Viewer Pete then added: “@jenlion was very gracious in defeat it was a horrible set on both sides.”

Another named Chris Chapman penned: “Very few easy ones in that set. Rare to see Jenny struggle.”

Jason Branham wrote: “Jenny was struggling for sure. Tricky set no doubt.”

Elsewhere, Mark recently made a plea for Bradley Walsh following their loss at the National Television Awards.

Bradley was up for the Best Presenter award at this year’s ceremony.

However, Ant and Dec scooped the win for the 20th year in a row.

As well as this, The Chase was up for Best Daytime Show alongside Loose Women, The Repair Shop and This Morning.

The quiz show lost out to the latter at the awards show last week.

Mark then took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the awards.

He penned: “We are outsiders for the best daytime show but there is always hope.

“When is Bradley finally going to get his own NTA? #NTAwards.”

Mark is also appearing in the latest series of Beat The Chasers as well.

The spin-off last aired on Saturday night on ITV, much to the delight of viewers.
