KSI has called for slowthai to be ‘punished’ after his behaviour at the NME Awards.
The rapper – real name Tyron Frampton – accepted the award for hero of the year, before beginning a brawl with an audience member who branded him a ‘misogynist’ after he made lewd comments to host Katherine Ryan.
YouTuber KSI – real name Olajide ‘JJ’ Olatunji – tweeted afterwards, saying: ‘Slowthai you crazy motherf***er [cry-laughing emoji].’
Clearly unimpressed at the sentiment, one follower told him: ‘A man harasses a woman on stage & gets called a ”crazy mother****er” Yo @KSIOlajidebt do better. I’ve seen the video… It’s not funny OR acceptable.’
JJ went on to say: ‘If you think that’s me condoning his actions then you’re wrong.’
He added: ‘Last night he was out of order and should definitely be punished for it. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes for the future because he does still have a bright future ahead of him.’
Footage from the star-studded music awards, which took place in London, shows slowthai getting close to Katherine on-stage and making sexual innuendos.
‘Smell my cologne, smells good don’t it,’ slowthai tells the comedian before leaning in to seemingly kiss her cheek.
After Katherine pushed him away, slowthai continued to make suggestive comments and said: ‘Baby girl, I don’t want to have to do this to you right now. But everybody, she needs to understand the levels right now.
‘If you want to do something, see me later. She wants me to tend to her flowers. You ain’t never had no one play with you like that. Stop playing with me.’
Katherine, 36, brushed it off as slowthai left the stage and joked: ‘I’m so thirsty for your c**k.’
The rapper has since apologised for his behaviour, saying: ‘@nme please forward my award to @kathbum for she is the hero of the year.
‘What started as a joke between us escalated to a point of shameful actions on my part. i want to unreservedly apologise, there is no excuse and I am sorry. i am not a hero.’
He added: ‘Katherine, you are a master at your craft and next time i’ll take my seat and leave the comedy to you. to any woman or man who saw a reflection of situations they’ve been in in those videos, i am sorry. i promise to do better. let’s talk here.’
Katherine, meanwhile, has been defending slowthai to fans, and responded to him saying: ‘I knew you were joking and congratulations on your very award-worthy album!
‘I hope you know that a bad day on social media passes so quickly. Everything will be better tomorrow. Xx’.
