And it seems the beautiful name was chosen by Katy, who ‘won the battle’ when it came to picking out a moniker.

Troy actor Orlando reportedly picked out Fiona instead, before Katy got the final say.

According to Us Weekly Katy won naming rights, with a source telling the publication: “Katy won the battle over baby’s name.

"She was pulling for the moniker Daisy, but Orlando liked Fiona.”

The insider continued to say: "She likes the name Daisy because daisies are her favourite flowers, simple, pure and sunny.

“She is also fond of the name Grace Ann. Ann after her grandmother, whose name was Ann Pearl.”

And it seems Orlando was reportedly “okay with honouring Katy’s late Grandma” as he liked the middle name Pearl.

The name is so pretty, and it is only befitting that the pair have chosen a flower name to be attached the surname Bloom.

But what does the flora and fauna moniker mean? Well according to FlowerMeanings.org, Daisy symbolises innocence and new beginnings, whereas a Dove means peace and love. So innocent love… how sweet!

Additionally, any Katy Perry fans will know that it is also the name of one of her songs she released earlier this year, Daisies, so of course it has an even more special meaning.

We had hints that Katy might have selected a floral choice, as she recently admitted to liking X Factor star Fleur East's name. Fleur is French for flower.

Last month, when the Roar singer appeared on Hits Radio Breakfast she was so taken by the host name that she admitted she was going to add it onto her list of possibilities.

She said to the presenter: "It's actually really beautiful. Legit, it may go on the list. I'm going to text him (Orlando) right now."

But it wasn’t just the radio interview with Fleur that inspired Katy in naming her daughter. Recently when being interviewed by ET Canada the ex wife of Russell Brand was prompted to add another name to her list.

It is rather apt that the name she chose was from a song name on her album, as she also seemed to considering naming her daughter Harley, after the song Harleys in Hawaii, which was also released recently.

When asked if she might use the name Katy was stunned by the suggestion, replying: "I've never thought of Harley… ever! Wow! Harley is a great name! Harley Bloom. Hold on… excuse me I'm writing it down."

She added: "But honestly, I'm telling you, this is a really great addition. I'll send it to [Orlando]. It's beautiful!"
