Kate Middletons uncle slams Harrys suggestion William married her to fit the mould

Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith has hit back at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's claims about his niece on their Netflix docuseries.

The 57 year old, who is the brother of Kate's mum Carole, spoke out about several moments on the bombshell series on GB News as he spoke to presenter Dan Wootton, 39.

Describing his niece, 40, as an "exceptional" human being, Gary insisted the Princess of Wales is, in fact, a hugger after Meghan, 41, suggested the opposite.

"I'm a hugger I've always been a hugger. I didn't know that could be jarring for a lot of Brits," the former Suits actress explained on the programme. "I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality out on the outside, carried through on on the inside."

"I just find that almost laughable," Gary said in response. "Kate is just lovely," he continued as he gushed over her warmth and "classy" nature.

Dan then shared that there was another segment of the show that appeared "more damaging" as he said: "… When Harry tries to suggest that maybe William didn't marry Kate for the right reasons."

Playing a clip of the moment, Harry, 38, could be seen saying: "I think for so many people in the family, especially obviously the men, there can be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit the mould as opposed to somebody who you perhaps are destined to be with.

"The difference between making decisions with your head, or your heart."

Dan then said: "Of course, the clear indication here is that he followed his heart by marrying Meghan and William had followed his head by marrying Kate. But you have seen them together away from the cameras, are they really in love?"

"I've seen them together in very unguarded moments – at Carole's house, where the first time I ever met William, he was making cups of tea and Kate was cooking supper.

"They are very comfortable with each other and they tease each other, which I think is a great tell tale that people get on – when they can have fun at each other's expense. It's done in a very tongue in cheek, very loving way. Touchy feely.

"It's a very natural relationship."

He went on to share how their relationship developed out of a friendship and the nation saw the two become close before deciding to take the next step in their romance.

"Whereas we're looking at Meghan, everything needs to be a revolution. There's a conflict. I think it's really unfair for Harry to suggest that."

He added: "If you can hear that, that's an entire nation rolling its eyes. It's just not true, we want the brothers to get back."
